Systems Engineer Controls

Position Description:

Support the development of functional safety designs within Vehicle Controls for the Vehicle Controls Module (VCM) and associated brake, steering, and propulsion actuation systems. Work activities include: Hazard Analysis and Risk Assessment Functional Safety Impact analysis of potential changes to existing functional safety designs Functional Safety development using MagicDraw/SysML Functional Safety requirement (exported from MagicDraw) and test case development in Jama including reviewing and releasing requirements in Jama and adding traceability to test cases Fault Tree Analysis Safety Verification Methods Development Producing Verification Reports Supplier Safety Assessment support Safety Assessment support Safety Risk Case development Production and Service Hand-Off activities Tracking Functional Safety work tasks using Jira Support the development of implementation level functional safety work products including: Software Safety Requirements Specification and Hardware Software Interface, Hardware Safety Specification, FMEDA for Hardware metrics (FIT/PMHF, SPFM, LFM) calculation. Support the system safety development workstream for Braking, Steering and Propulsion Systems and Features. Conduct safety analyses reviews of features and platform systems including HAZOP, Fault Tree Analysis, and FMEA. Perform model-based systems engineering activities for features and platform systems that require functional safety development work modeled in MagicDraw/SysML. Conduct residual risk and latent risk assessments for functional safety systems. Develop, present, and support functional safety technical design reviews. Support supplier safety assessment and supplier reviews on functional safety work products. Develop System HIL and Vehicle Design Verification Methods Update software calibration guides and support calibration management processes.
