Job Title: Product Engineer Powertrain

General Responsibilities 

  • Design & Release responsibility of automatic transmission external control (shifter) systems including floor and Instrument Panel mounted shifters, electric shifters, shift cables and cable attachment brackets.
  • Work with design and testing teams to understand and improve component performance reliability and durability to meet key governmental safety requirements.
  • Analyze data and make recommendations for improved reliability and durability performance.
  • Monitor the quality metrics for shifter frequently and apply quality management techniques to improve quality of the product, reduce warranty spend and maintain quality targets.
  • Manage Supply Base for Automatic Transmission Shifter Components.
  • Manage current and past warranty for AT Shifters cables brackets.
  • Manage current model quality objectives.

Travel:  Travel to assembly plants throughout the United States approximately twice a year for a duration of 5-10 days.

Position Minimum Requirements: 

Required Education: Master’s degree in Automotive Engineering or Mechanical Engineering 

Position Minimum Requirements:

12 credit hours of master’s degree-level coursework including the following automotive systems with grade of 3.0 or higher:

  • Course:  Automotive Powertrain Systems
  • Course:  Automotive Mechanical Systems
  • Course:  Automotive Control Systems including use of Matlab, Simulink and dSpace software and hardware.
  • College-level Course:  Engineering Chemistry for knowledge of properties, engineering application, and design of injection molded parts.
  • 6 months experience in Quality Engineer.  May Include internship or work study.

Job Title: CAE Engineer

General Responsibilities 

  • Perform body NVH and/or durability analysis and structural analysis with Finite Element Method (FEM).
  • Build finite element models of vehicle parts & structures.
  • Develop design solutions to improve durability, strength, stiffness and performance of components and vehicle systems. 
  • Build automation workflows and perform design of experiments (DOE).Post process the DOE runs and generate response surface models (RSM).
  • Perform data analysis and optimization to achieve weight and cost savings without degrading any attribute performances on body exterior components.
  • Work on multi-disciplinary optimization projects (MDO)
  • Perform body NVH and/or durability analysis and structural analysis with Finite Element Method (FEM) with focus on optimization using Finite Element Analysis (FEA)
  • Apply Structural Optimization techniques like Topology, Shape, Bead and Sizing Optimization to generate design concepts in automotive design cycle.

Position Minimum Requirements: 

Degree:   Master’s in Mechanical Engineering

Experience:  6 months of experience automotive design engineering.

Special Knowledge and skills:  12 credit hours of graduate- level automotive engineering coursework with grade 3.0/B or higher in Engineering Optimization; Automotive Structural Analysis; Automotive Engineering Lightweight design; Mechanics of composite structure
