Product Engineer Powertrain

Position Description:

The Electric Vehicle Conductive Charging Design and Release Engineer will be responsible for delivering the Battery Charge Control Module (BCCM, aka onboard vehicle charger) for new electric vehicle programs (Plug In Hybrid Electric Vehicles/PHEV and Battery Electric Vehicles/BEV) on time at the target price with best in class quality. The D&R Engineer will work closely with many teams including, but not limited to, the supplier, purchasing, application engineering, software engineers and the vehicle programs to meet objectives. In addition, the D&R Engineer with work with test engineers to prove out the design functions as intended and meets all requirements.

Skills Required:

  • Lead BCCM design and delivery for next generation PHEVs and BEVs * On new PHEV/BEV programs, create and maintain core quality documents for the BCCM such as DFMEA, boundary diagram, interface matrix, Significant & Critical Characteristics Approval Form (SCCAF), DVPR, etc. * Develop in vehicle package locations by supporting the Applications Team with ideas and feasibility of attachment features and internal packaging constraints of the BCCM * Collaborate with the supplier and Applications Team on releasing parts in WERS and drawings in TeamCenter from P-release through launch * Work with the BCCM software engineer and Calibration team to ensure software (OBDII module) is delivered on time to support GPDS milestones per the whitepaper certification process * Present to EPE management team the status of the BCCM at key GPDS milestones and 5D/8D status when issues arise * Manage electrical Device Transmittal (DT) * Participate in worst case...
